Beginning Pre Competitive

Our beginner pre-competitive group is designed to teach the basic skills of competitive swimming techniques  in a small group setting.  The low intensity based technique work done in a small group setting make it a hybrid of swim lessons and swim team, a great first step into competitive swimming. The Beginning Pre-Competitive group works on teaching fundamental techniques and drills of the four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke) as well as some diving and turn basics.  Classes are held Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 4:00-4:45 pm.  Signups for this class begin at 3:30 pm at the first class session of the month. Swimmers must be at least five years of age, able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke, and follow basic instructions. Athletes training in this group are encouraged to participate in our two annual invitational swim meets held in October and March, though it is optional. Swimmers graduating from our swim lessons will normally enroll in this program as recommended by our staff.

Coach: Instructor/Lifeguard

Advanced Pre Competitive

The Advanced Pre-Competitive group is designed to continue to teach proper stroke technique go prepare the athlete to join the swim team.  Advanced Pre-Competitive swimmers will also begin to focus on racing starts and turns for each stroke to be meet ready. This group is encouraged but not required to compete in our Invitational swim meets as well as selected other meets as designated by the coach.  Swimmers are age 5 and up that have been recommended by the Beginner Pre-Competitive coach.  The class meets Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 4:45-5:30 pm.

Coach: Instructor/Lifeguard

Bronze Group

The Bronze level is our introductory swim team group. Members of the Bronze group can legally finish 50 yards of each of the four competitive strokes according to USA Swimming rules and are at least 5 years old.  In addition, Bronze swimmers need to be able to pass the USA Swimming Start Certification test.  As a beginning competitive group, Bronze swimmers continue to improve stroke technique and drills while increasing endurance. The fundamentals of starts and turns are also implemented in this group.  Attendance at swim meets is highly encouraged  but not required but necessary to move into the Silver group.  The Bronze group practice times are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:15-5:30 pm

Coach: Lauren Barron

Silver Group

The Silver group reiterates core swimming fundamentals while working to further improve the technique of the four competitive strokes, starts, and turns.   The sets run slightly faster than in our Bronze group and the coaches have higher expectations regarding commitment. Swim meet attendance is required for advancement to the Gold group.  To be eligible for this group the swimmer needs to have achieved at least one "red" time standard or achieved a certain level of IMX points as determined by the staff. Swimmers at this level are introduced to dryland conditioning.  Practice times are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:45 - 7:30 pm.

Coach: Lauren Barron

Gold Group

The Gold Group transitions swimmers from beginning competitive swimming.  Swimmers in this group must have at least 2 red times or have achieved a level of IMX points as determined by the coaching staff.  Swim Meet attendance is required as is a more dedicated level of practice attendance.  Swimmers in this group will continue to focus on stroke technique and drills while increasing their endurance and speed.  Practice times for the Gold group are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.

Coach: Omar Torres

Platinum Group

The Platinum group continues the transition from competitive swimming to more advanced competitive swimming.  The group continues to improve basic fundamental skills as well as improve swimmers endurance and speed using advanced methods.  The main goal of every Platinum group swimmer is to qualify for Age Group Championships and/or Junior Olympics.  Swimmers are required to maintain a minimum practice attendance requirement as determined by the coach as well as regularly attend swim meets.  To be eligible for this group swimmers need two Blue times, or one Blue time and a level of IMX score as determined by the staff.  Practice is held Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  Selected swimmers may be invited to attend morning practices.

Coach: Kevin Larsen

Varsity Team

This unique group is for athletes ages 12 & over looking to improve their competitive swimming or simply stay in shape for the High School season.  It can serve as an addition to your High School practice while in season or as a way to prepare and stay in shape when out of season.  Basic knowledge of the four strokes is needed before joining.  Participation in your high school program is not a requirement.    While there is no minimum practice attendance or swim meet attendance required for this group, dedicated Varsity swimmers with excellent work ethic, high practice attendance, and good meet participation can apply for promotion to other groups. The coaching staff does its best to work with your high school coaches with the main of objective of the group being to make you a better competitive High School swimmer. Practice is offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 5:30 - 8:30 pm.
